KFAC Rules It is a condition of membership that members read and are fully aware of club rules. You may note that rules relating to actual fishing are limited, the club has always prided itself on a good membership and as such all members are given the chance to fish sensibly rather than imposing draconian rules. Most rules are stipulations laid down by landowners and as such must be followed to the letter. The Kinver Freeliners has built up a very good relationship with all our owners over the years and any breach of the rules could jeopardise us holding a lease to a venue as well as membership of the club. At the bottom of the page is a link for printing the rules off. Please print them off and familiarise yourself with them before visiting our venues General Rules 1. Members, guest ticket and day ticket holders and non-fishing guests must uphold the good name of Kinver Freeliners Angling Club and abide by the club’s constitution and rules at all times. 2. Members, guest ticket and day ticket holders are responsible for making themselves aware of any statutory national and regional laws and bye-laws relevant to angling. All such laws and bye-laws must be adhered to at all times. 3. Any breach of the club’s constitution or rules or the statutory regulations by a club member, guest ticket or day ticket holder or non- fishing guest will be a disciplinary matter for the member or ticket holder and will be dealt with by the committee. 4. Members, guest ticket and day ticket holders and non-fishing guests must not interfere or cause disturbance to other persons using club waters other than provided under General Rule 8. 5. All anglers must be in possession of either their membership cards, a guest ticket or a day ticket while fishing. 6. Day Tickets must be purchased by anyone who is not a Club member and who wishes to fish a KFAC water for which day tickets are available. Day tickets may be purchased on the bank from a Club Bailiff on the day of fishing and are valid only for the individual named and the location and date stated on the day ticket. Day ticket anglers may commence fishing prior to purchasing their ticket from a club bailiff on the bank. 7. Members, guest ticket and day ticket holders must when requested by a club bailiff or adult club member produce valid membership cards or a ticket as appropriate for inspection. Anyone failing to produce evidence of their right to fish or to purchase a day ticket, where allowed, will be required to cease fishing and leave the club water immediately. 8. Junior members under the age of 15 years must be accompanied by an adult club member. Junior members who are aged 15 years or older do not have to be accompanied by an adult club member. 9. Abusive, threatening or violent language or behaviour by a club member, guest ticket or day ticket holder or non-fishing guest towards any other person will not be tolerated. 10. Membership cards remain the property of the Kinver Freeliners Angling Club. 11. No fires or barbecues permitted on any club waters. 12. No litter including fishing line, terminal tackle, unused bait or groundbait to be left at any club water. 13. Dogs are permitted on club waters except the Dudmaston waters, Forest Lake & Housman's. They must be well behaved, under control, on a lead at all times and at Chelmarsh dogs must not be allowed to enter the water. Particular care must be taken at all waters where livestock are present. 14. Commercial guiding is prohibited on all KFAC waters. 15. Anglers must use the designated club car parks and must display their club car parking badges in any vehicle parked in a club car park. A guest's vehicle must display either a printed copy of the guest ticket or the guest ticket information written legibly on a piece of paper. The club member to whom the guest ticket was issued is responsible for ensuring their guest complies with this requirement. 16. No member may carry out certain maintenance work on the club's waters without prior written approval by the Maintenance Officer. Maintenance work requiring prior approval includes but is not restricted to building of platforms, cutting steps, laying slabs and removal of both standing or fallen trees or large branches. If a member is uncertain as to whether or not maintenance work needs approval they must contact the Maintenance Officer before commencing any such work. This rule does not prevent the removal of bankside vegetation that might reasonably be cut back to allow access to an existing swim or to a new swim but it must not involve any maintenance work for which prior approval is required and has not been obtained. Any member seeking retrospective approval will be deemed to have broken this rule. Guest Ticket Rules 1. Guest tickets are available only to Adult or Honorary Members and must be booked and paid for prior to their guest commencing fishing. 2. Guest tickets not paid for prior to the date of the guest ticket will not be valid.  3. Guest tickets are not available on the bank. 4. Guest tickets must be booked in advance of fishing using either the link provided in the “Featured” section of the Club’s FaceBook page or the “Guest Ticket” tab in the Members Section of the website or if an online booking fails from the Secretary or Membership Secretary. 5. Club members are restricted to one fishing guest ticket per day. 6. The Club member must accompany the guest while fishing.  If the guest is a competent angler then the member and guest may fish different swims.  If the guest is a novice angler for the target species then the member is expected to supervise their guest. 7. Guest tickets are valid only for the individual named on the ticket and from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset for the date stated on the ticket. 8. Guest tickets do not apply to a specific venue and may be used at any Club water for which a guest ticket is valid. 9. The guest’s vehicle if parked at a KFAC water must clearly display a copy of the guest ticket. 10. Each adult or honorary member is entitled to one free guest ticket per season.  This must be obtained in advance of fishing as detailed in Guest Ticket Rules, Clause 4. 11. A guest can have only one free fishing guest ticket per season.  After the first free ticket the guest must pay for a ticket irrespective of whether the member taking them is entitled to one.  This will not affect a member’s free ticket entitlement. 12. Non-fishing guests are allowed to accompany adult or honorary members and guest ticket holders on most KFAC waters.  The exceptions are those waters where the land owner has expressly forbidden the sale of guest tickets or the presence of non-fishing guests.  See “Venue- specific Rules” for details of these exceptions. 13. Non-fishing guest tickets are free but a guest ticket must be obtained for each non-fishing guest in advance as detailed in Guest Ticket Rules, Clause 4.  Failure to book non-fishing guest ticket(s) will mean the non- fishing guest is not covered by the KFAC’s third party insurance. 14. Both adult and junior fishing guests and non-fishing guests are temporary members of the KFAC for the duration of the guest ticket and must obey the Club rules.  The club member booking the guest tickets is responsible for ensuring their guest(s) obey the club rules.  See KFAC Constitution for further details. Fishing Rules 1. All members, guest ticket and day ticket holders must be in possession of a valid Environment Agency rod license to cover the number of rods they are using at any one time. It is a legal requirement to carry your EA license(s) while fishing. 2. On all club waters a maximum of three (3) rods are permitted to be used at any one time from one (1) swim/peg only. 3. Fishing tackle must be of suitable strength to cope with the target fish. See “Predator Rules” for specifics relating to Pike, Zander, Perch and Common Eel. 4. No coarse fish are to be removed from any club water other than the daily quota and size limits allowed by statute for rivers. A daily quota of up to 15 fish each of 20cm or less in length caught from an enclosed water or canal may be used as fresh dead baits or where allowed live baits in the water from which they were captured. Unused live baits must be returned to the water from which they were captured and not taken away for use on a return visit to the water or for use in another water. 5. Unhooking mats and landing nets of a size appropriate to the target species are compulsory if it is the intention or the need should arise to remove a fish from the water and place the fish upon the ground. 6. Unhooking mats and landing nets must be either thoroughly dried or chemically sanitized before use in a club water in order to reduce the risk of spreading infection to our fish stocks. 7. When weighing a fish the fish must be supported in an appropriately sized container (e.g. weigh sling) 8. Members fishing a water that has a contest booked on it may be asked to move by the officials running the contest. Information on waters booked for contests can be obtained from the club’s web site, Facebook page or from the Secretary. 9. The terms "sunrise" and "sunset" refer to the published times of sunrise and sunset for the location and date at which fishing is taking place. Predator Rules 1. When fishing for predators on waters that contain Pike and Zander a wire trace must be used at all times. A minimum length of 18 inches for live and dead bait and a minimum length of 12 inches for lures and flies. When paternostering a bait, an uptrace at least 6 inches longer than the main trace must be used. The only exception to these rules, is when using a dropshot with a single hook and a lure no larger than 9 cm, then mono or fluorocarbon may be used. 2. Main line - a minimum line strength of 15lbs for mono and 30lbs for braid. On Chelmarsh Reservoir a 20-foot mono/fluorocarbon leader of at least 30lbs must also be used when ledgering due to the presence of zebra mussels. 3. When ledgering fixed leads of any type are not allowed. A large run ring must be used, so in the event of a break off, a fish cannot get tethered. 4. The static freelining of a bait is not allowed. 5. An audible alarm in conjunction with a drop back indicator must be used when ledgering or sunk float fishing except when fishing a river then the drop back indicator can be dispensed with. 6. When fishing for Pike or Zander tackle must include: a large triangular landing net with minimum 36-inch arms or a circular net with a minimum 26-inch diameter; an unhooking mat of at least 36 inches; an unhooking kit to include forceps or long nosed pliers and side cutters, all to be at least 9 inches long. Pike gags or Boga grips are not allowed. 7. Perch anglers may scale down their rigs and tackle from that stated above but must keep in mind the possibility of hooking larger Pike, Zander and Common Eel when targeting Perch. 8. Treble hooks must be semi-barbed when bait fishing for Pike or Zander except for Chelmarsh Reservoir when at certain times of the year treble hooks are not allowed, for details see “Venue-specific Rules”. Lures may be fully barbed. 9. All hooks must be barbless when fishing for Pike in the Dudmaston Waters. This includes lures. At certain times of the year treble hooks are not allowed, for details see “Venue-specific Rules”. 10. Live fish baits are allowed on club waters with the exception of the Dudmaston Waters. Live baits must be caught at the venue at the time of fishing. On no account can live fish be brought to a water. 11. Pike and Zander must not be put in keepnets. 12. If an Eel is deep hooked, you must consider what is best for the fish and if necessary, cut the wire trace as close to the hook as possible before returning the fish to the water. 13. Novice predator anglers are urged to contact the Club Secretary for advice prior to fishing for Pike, Zander or Common Eel. Arrangements will be made for an established predator angler to provide practical guidance on tackle, terminal rigs, bite indication, handling and unhooking of these delicate predatory species. Venue-specific Rules IMPORTANT – most of these venue-specific rules are imposed on the KFAC by the land owner as part of the conditions of the club’s lease of the fishing rights. A breach of any of these rules could jeopardise not only your club membership (breach of any rule or the constitution) but could also jeopardise the club’s future leasing of the water. The Committee work hard to build and maintain good relations with land owners so please give them and the rest of the club your support by observing the rules. Dudmaston Waters (Big Pool, Brim and Seggy) 1. Night fishing is not allowed. Fishing is from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset only, 2. Club members and guests must enter and exit the car parks using the farm track (nearest Bridgnorth) and must not use the entrance next to the cottage. 3. Club members and guests arriving before 0600 must park on the club's overflow car park and must keep noise to a minimum so as not to disturb local residents or their pets. Club members and guests arriving at or after 0600 can use either the club's main or overflow car parks. 4. Cars must be parked in the club’s main or overflow car parks within the designated areas. Parking outside of the designated areas or in the gateway to Brim Pool is not permitted. 5. Live fish baits are not permitted at any of the Dudmaston Waters. 6. When using dead fish baits on Dudmaston Waters, treble hooks are only permitted between 1st October and 31st March inclusive. At all other times, one or more single hooks with a wire trace must be used. 7. At all times when fishing for Pike all hooks must be barbless. 8. No fishing is permitted from the two islands on Dudmaston Big Pool. 9. No angler is permitted to use a method feeder over 2oz (56g) unloaded in conjunction with braided hook length of 6” (150mm) or less. 10. Day tickets are not available for any of the Dudmaston Waters. 11. Guest tickets can be purchased by club members but must be obtained in advance of commencing fishing. (see Guest Ticket Rules) 12. Walking across or fishing from the lawns in front of the house on Big Pool is strictly forbidden. 13. There are no toilet facilities on the Dudmaston waters and any member or guest needing to use a toilet must leave the estate to seek an appropriate toilet facility. 14. Radios are not permitted. 15. Dogs and other animals must not be brought to the Dudmaston waters or allowed onto any of the landlord’s adjacent land. 16. On Brim Pool rods must not be positioned out in the water. The butt of a rod placed in any form of rod rest must be over the bank and the angler must be able to reach the rod from the bank. 17. In order to reduce the potential of poaching there is a publicity ban on all material relating to Brim Pool. This ban does not apply to the reporting of known or suspected poaching or verbal discussion between club members. River Severn – Hampton Loade 1. Fishing is from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset only. Adult and Honorary club members, their fishing and non-fishing guests and juniors accompanied by an Adult or Honorary club member have special dispensation to fish until 2200h (10pm) or one hour after sunset whichever is the latest. This special dispensation does not apply to day tickets. Night fishing is not allowed on any part of the club’s Hampton Loade section. 2. Day tickets for the top two meadows are available on the bank from the bailiff. The bottom two meadows are for club members only i.e. day ticket anglers are not allowed to fish the bottom two meadows. River Severn – Unicorn 1. Night fishing is allowed on the Unicorn section. Bivvies and brollies must be erected on the river bank and not in the field otherwise KFAC members may be charged for camping by the campsite owners. 2. Day tickets are available on the bank from the bailiff. 3. KFAC members cannot park in the Unicorn pub car park free of charge.  ANPR cameras are in operation. River Severn – Bevere & Northwick 1. Night fishing is allowed on the Bevere and Northwick sections but no one using the Bevere car park is to arrive before 0500 or depart after 2300. 2. Day tickets are not available for the Bevere or Northwick sections. 3. Members are not allowed to fish between the two metal swing gates to the north and south of the house on stilts (below Bevere Weir) as this short section is notunder KFAC control. Members may fish in the Northwick section below the most southerly of these two swing gates. 4. Parking at the Bevere car park is limited to four (4) vehicles. If on arrival there are already four cars in the car park you must not park and must find somewhere else to fish. 5. The twin gates to the Bevere car park open outwards and the central post, a heavy length of RSJ, can be lifted out (at your own risk) to make entry and exit manoeuvres easier. The central post must be replaced and the gates closed as soon as entry or exit is complete. 6. Members parking at the Bevere car park must, in addition to their car park sticker, also display their mobile telephone number on the dashboard so that it can easily be read and thus called if the landowner, farmer or a club member needs a vehicle to be moved to facilitate entry or exit from the car park. 7. A club member receiving a call to move their vehicle must cease fishing and make their way to the car park as quickly as possible. After the required vehicle movements are complete the club member can re-park and continue with their fishing. 8. Only club members can park in the Bevere car park. Guest anglers are not allowed to park their own vehicle in the Bevere car park and must share transport with a club member. 9. As vehicles arrive at the Bevere car park they must be parked in a way that allows up to four vehicles to get into the car park, i.e. the first vehicles to arrive must not park up against the entrance gates and must leave enough room for another vehicle to park behind them. 10. Vehicles must be parked between the entrance gates and the gates (usually open) at the top of the track leading to the gate into the field, i.e. no vehicles to be parked on the track. 11. Access to the Bevere fishery is through the gate into the field at the bottom of the track leading from the car park. There are two chains on the gate with both having a KFAC combination padlock. The gate must be closed, secured with both padlocks locked on their respective chains and spun off their combination after closing the gate. 12. Bevere Island is out of bounds. Club members and their guests must not attempt to access the island. River Severn – Kempsey 1. Night fishing is allowed on the Kempsey section but no one is to arrive before 0500 or depart after 2300. 2. The landowner has installed a push button combination lock on the gate leading to the riverside field. The gate must not be left open or unlocked at any time. The combination is 367 and if an incorrect code is entered press C to clear. 3. Day tickets are not available for the Kempsey section. 4. Dry weather parking for the southerly original section is in the first meadow with no access for vehicles beyond the signs. Wet weather parking is by the container. Do not block the farmer’s access to the meadow. During dry weather vehicles may be taken along the bank of the newer northerly section but must keep to the field edges and not drive across the field before reaching the coloured post or before hay is harvested. River Severn – Yeandley 1. Night fishing is allowed on the Yeandley section. 2. Day tickets are not available for the Yeandley section. 3. Members are allowed to access the river bank in their motor vehicles in dry weather only. During wet weather vehicles must be parked on the area in front of the barn. River Teme – Knightwick 1. Night fishing is allowed on the Knightwick section. 2. Day tickets are not available for the Knightwick section. 3. KFAC members only have been granted permission to fly fish this section for non-migratory Brown Trout during the coarse angling close season (15th March to 15th June inclusive). Warwickshire Avon – Wick Grange 1. Night fishing is allowed on the Wick Grange section. The owner has requested that members intending to fish overnight text or call him to inform him of their intentions so that he can monitor vehicles crossing and parking on his property. Contact details are in Members Section of KFAC web site. 2. Day tickets are not available for the Wick Grange section. Forest Lake 1. Only adult and junior club members are permitted to fish Forest Lake. Guests (fishing and non-fishing) are not permitted. 2. No more than 6 anglers are allowed to fish Forest Lake at any one time. 3. Day time fishing is allowed from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. 4. Night fishing is allowed for up to a maximum of 4 members at any one time. Night fishing must be pre-booked and is limited to three consecutive nights per angler except for the Car Park swim which is limited to one night per angler per 24 hour period. Bookings are administered by the Secretary and Membership Secretary. 5. Anglers must provide their own toilet arrangements (e.g. portable loo, bucket) and all toilet waste taken away. 6. Cars must be parked in the car park just inside the entrance gate which has a KFAC coded padlock and chain. The gate must be fully secured after entering and upon leaving the fishery. 7. Members must stay close to the vicinity of the lake and are not permitted to wander onto the estate’s land including the private lakes above our water which are strictly out of bounds for KFAC members. This means there is no access from one bank to the other bank at the northern end of the lake, in other words no circular access. 8. The boats moored at the boat house on the wooded west bank must not to be used by KFAC members. 9. Dogs are not allowed on any part of Forest Lake. Housman's Pool 1. Only adult and junior club members are permitted to fish Housman’s Pool. Guests (fishing and non-fishing) are not permitted. 2. No more than 10 anglers are allowed to fish Housman’s Pool at any one time and members must be prepared to share a double swim if required. 3. Night fishing is allowed for up to a maximum of 4 members at any one time. Night fishing must be pre-booked and is limited to three consecutive nights per angler. Bookings are administered by the Secretary and Membership Secretary. 4. Members whether fishing a day session or an overnight session must not arrive earlier than 0700 and not leave later than 2300. 5. Anglers must provide their own toilet arrangements (e.g. portable loo, bucket) and all toilet waste taken away. 6. Wading is not allowed. This is a safety feature due to areas of deep water and very soft sediment close to the bank. 7. No braid mainlines, leaders or hook lengths are allowed. 8. No boats of any kind are allowed. 9. Members must keep to the designated roads and paths and not enter into the working areas of the quarry. All quarry vehicles and personnel must be given priority and treated with respect. Members must observe a maximum speed limit of 10mph and park in the designated parking area only. 10. All gates must be closed, locked and the padlocks spun off their combination. Padlocks must be placed on the chain so as not to impede the use of other locks on the chain. 11. Members must stay close to the vicinity of the Housman’s Pool and are not permitted to wander onto the estate’s land including the other pools and the quarry workings which are strictly out of bounds for KFAC members. 12. Dogs are not allowed on any part of Housman’s Pool. Chelmarsh Reservoir 1. Fishing is not permitted from either of the two dams at each end of the reservoir or in the vicinity of the parked sail boats and launch site. 2. Anglers are not allowed to access the main dam. The steps on the outside of the main dam may be used to access the west bank but anglers must upon reaching the bird hide sign walk along the hedge row until the west bank is reached. A public right of way crosses the small dam at the top end of the reservoir. 3. Fishing is allowed on the east bank from Peg 1 just past the end of the parked sail boats up to the east end of the small dam at the top end of the reservoir and on the west bank from the west corner of the main dam up to the west corner of the small dam. The west bank of the reservoir is not easily accessible and has limited paths at either end of the reservoir. 4. Night fishing is permitted. 5. KFAC members and guest ticket holders are not allowed to fish Pegs 1-35 the night before, the morning of, or during a SSW Employees official club match. Dates of the matches will be posted on the KFAC web site and as a file loaded to the KFAC Members Facebook page. 6. Guest ticket anglers are not allowed to fish using dead or live fish baits or lures or flies. 7. When using live or dead fish bait's on Chelmarsh Reservoir, treble hooks are only permitted between 1st October and 31st March inclusive. At all other times, one or more single hooks with wire traces must be used. 8. Lead weights are not allowed to be used but non-toxic weights are permitted. 9. Dogs are permitted but they must be well behaved, under control, on a lead at all times and must not be allowed to enter the water. 10. KFAC members may drive up past the sailing club premises to the bollards close to Peg 1 just past the end of the parked sail boats where a maximum of 10 motor vehicles may be parked. 11. If on arrival at the above parking area the maximum permitted number of motor vehicles are already parked KFAC members may drop off their fishing tackle but must park their motor vehicles on the grass verge adjacent to the "Angler's Car Park" sign located on the approach road just below the main dam. This procedure may be reversed at the end of your fishing session in order to pick up fishing tackle. 12. Vehicles must not be parked on any other grass verge, in the lay-by or on the access road. 13. Vehicles must observe the displayed speed limit and always be driven with caution and consideration past the parked sail boats or any pedestrians. Woodland Lodge 1. Night fishing is allowed but no one is to arrive before 0600 or depart after 2300. 2. No fish over 3lb to be put in a keepnet and unhooking mats to be used for bigger specimens. 3. Pool 1 may be fished by club members, guest and day ticket holders but Pool 2 is for members and guest ticket holders only 4. Members are not permitted to use the main entrance signposted "Woodlands Park Lodge" and must use the track a few yards further on that leads past an old caravan and around the back of the lodges. Please drive slowly and quietly. Valley View 1. Night fishing is allowed. 2. Day tickets are not available. 3. Keepnets may be used for all species except Carp which must not be placed in a keepnet under any circumstances. 4. No braid mainline. Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal – Stewponey & Gothersley 1. Day tickets are available on the bank from the bailiff. 2. Night fishing is allowed. Quick Reference Please refer to Club Rules for detailed information. 1.
